Maharaja installs Rajan Panicker and Team
At a colourful ceremony at Hotel Residency Tower, Trivandrum on 28 June 2009, the India Area convention of Y's Men International was inaugurated by H.H Padmanabhadasa Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma, Maharaja of Travancore.
The new team at India Area comprises Ym Rajan Panicker IAAS (Retd) as Area President, Ym Dr J. Sivanandan Nair as Area Secretary, Ym Er. A Joshua as Area Treasurer; Ym V.S Radhakrishnan as Area Bulletin Editor, Yw Elizabeth Rajan as Area Joint Secretary, Ym Ramakrishna Pillai as Area Directory Editor, four Regional Directors Yw Susy Mathew (SWIR), Ym V.I Cherian (MWIR), Ym Er. K.M Scariachen (WIR), Ym P.V Kurian (SIR), and Yw Shanti Panigrahi. Forty (40) District Governors were also installed on the occasion by Past IP Ym Dr. P Sukumaran.
Susy Mathew Installed

Kollam, 21 Jun 2009: Yw. Susy Mathew was installed as Regional Director, South West India Region at a colourful function here in the evening. International President Ym. V.S. Basheer was the installing officer. Yw. Susy Mathew took over the reigns from Ym. Capt. N.P. Muraleedharan Pillai, standing next to her in the above photo. Narayana Swami and Molly Stanly Elected
Kollam, 31 May 2009: At the South West India Region's elections held at the Rama Varma Club in Kollam, Ym. Er. Narayana Swami and Yw. Molly Stanly have been elected respectively as RDE - SWIR and LRDE - Zone 1, SWIR. They will take over as Regional Director and Lt Regional Director in 2010 June. Hearty Congratulations and best wishes to the elected officers.

30 May 2009: At the District Conference held at YMCA, Trivandrum (see programme:) Ym. Dr. Abraham K Joshua of YMC Vattiyoorkavu was installed as the District Governor of District II for the Y's year 2009-10. Ym. Dr. J. Sivanandan Nair, Past Regional Director and Area Secretary-Designate was the installing officer. Dr. Geetha Abraham Joshua is the incoming First Lady of District II.
At the District Conference held before DG installation, Yw. Dr. Anitha Mohan of YMC Trivandrum Queens was elected unopposed as DG-Elect. Ym. Josey Joseph, PRD, ISD and District Advisor, conducted the election.
Dr. Anitha's name was proposed by Yw. Prema Frederick and seconded by Yw. Salima Ben, both of the Queens club. Dr. Anitha Mohan is a dietician and the State Nutrition Officer.
Outgoing DG, Ym. Dr. Churchin Ben presided over the Conference which was attended by senior leaders and several club volunteers. The meeting started at 6.30 pm and concluded by 9.45 pm with dinner.

RDE Meets District Teams at Chengannur
Chengannur, 26 Apr 2009: RD-Elect Yw. Susy Mathew and her regional team held discussions on the Regional Calendar and proposed activities for the 2009-10 Y's year, with designated district leaders. DG-Elect Training Programme, 8-9 Feb 2009
Kannur, 8 & 9 Feb 2009: DG Elect Ym.Dr.Abraham K Joshua participated in the DGE Training Programme of India Area held during 8-9 Mar 2009 at Hotel Sky Palace, Kannur. The programme started at 10 AM on 8th and concluded by 2 pm on 9th. The Inaugural function on 8th was chaired by Ym. Thomas V John, Area President. International President Ym, V.S. Basheer inaugurated in presence of Area President Elect Ym. M. Rajan Panicker. About 38 DG Elects participated from the five regions in the India Area which comprises Central India Region, South India Region, West India Region, Mid West India Region and South West India Region.
